Eleuthera, Glass Window and Queens Baths
The name Eleuthera is derived from the Greek word for Freedom. It is an archipelago of the Bahamas, 2 miles wide and 110 miles long. It’s east coast is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and west coast by the Eleuthera Bight, often referred to as part of the Caribbean.
Spanish Wells is a fishing town in northern part of the island chain. We spent a few days there anchored out in the bay as we were scheduled to take our 5-day COVID tests at a clinic in town.
The Glass Window is one of the most well known sites of the Bahamas. A narrow bridge separates the Atlantic and Caribbean/Eleuthera bight waters. We were the only boat there when we stopped for the afternoon! Not a big surprise, I think we will find that to be the case as we continue down the chain.
We also had the Queens Baths all to ourselves….check out our video of these two beautiful sites.
