What the heck have we been up to?

What the heck have we been up to?

The last month has been just a blur…we have sailed north and then south and then north and south again along the central exumas chain. Our friend Amber flew from the US to Staniel Cay to visit for a week. This gave us the chance to revisit some great anchorages and snorkeling sites from Pipe Creek down to Lee Stocking Island.

Iguanas are a thing here. We stopped by to feed the protected Pink Iguanas at Leaf Cay and the smaller iguanas on Bitter Guana Cay. I have to say that the first island visit was a little intimidating. The iguanas are used to visitors and they come running out to greet you when they hear your dinghy approach. They are pretty docile, but still wild animals.

We’ve done a lot of snorkeling, Lionfish hunting and practicing our free dive skills. The most memorable swim was in Georgetown. Three adult and one baby dolphin swam with us for over an hour, right at our boat! I’ve never had the chance to get this close to the beautiful creatures and can’t wait to have the chance again.

True bucket list item, swimming with dolphins including a baby one!
